Tall multiple spikes of dark through light blue blossom provide interest for several weeks in mid to late summer and also attract masses of nectar loving insects.

This large upright herbaceous perennial is ideal at the back of a border where it provides masses of late summer colour. Veronicastrum requires moist but well drained soils to flourish and benefits from occasional winter mulching to increase soil fertility and moisture retention. Annually this plant needs cutting back to the ground annually and may require summer irrigation during drought conditions.
