This tough little sub shrub burns bright and fast. It will race to flower, producing masses of distinctive pink through purple blossom throughout the summer months growing to a height of no more than 80cm - so useful in a limited space. Erysimum 'Bowles Mauve' only lasts a few years so plan to propagate and replant every few years.
Erysimum linifolium - Cultivation Notes
Erysimum is a tough shrub that will happily put up with dry soils and full sun, being especially happy on shallow chalky soils in a hot dry yet sheltered location. Propagate annually by taking heal cuttings as this almost tender plant may well not make it through a cold wet winter.
