Evergreen clematis produces impressive large leathery dark green foliage, providing all year round foliage interest and, if tied in to trellis - a fast evergreen screen. It is smoothered in clusters of vanilla scented pink tinted white blossom in early summer(thus the cultivar name Apple Blossom). It will eventually grow to 10m tall x 5m wide - so allow plenty of space - where it can be tied in trellis or grown up existing plants.
Clematis armandii - Cultivation Notes
This fast growing and expansive evergreen climber will flourish in sun or part shade in a sheltered spot with a moist cool root run - so avoid hot dry soils. Tie young shoots into support and allow plenty of space for growth as this Clematis grows fast and needs plenty of room. Mulch in winter avoiding base of stem.
