This mop headed medium sized tree, with its huge golden yellow leaves and white summer flowers, makes an attractive specimen for the larger garden. Flowers are followed by long 'bean' pods.

Catalpa will tolerate most soil types - being especially well suited to heavy clays. Generally a deep fertile soil is best. This tree is tender so plant in a warm sunny spot and avoid exposed cold areas. Prune dead wood in early spring.
